Seal Coating

Most people are unaware that weather player a major roll in curing sealcoat.  Just like paint, you need to have warm temperatures and dry air to optimize curing. Manufactures recommend their products be applied when the temperature has been above 50 degrees F for 24 hours prior to application and 24 hours after application. It is not recommended to apply at night but if it is a necessity you must allow a ample time for the sealer to cure before you open the area to traffic. If the sealer is not properly cured out, before traffic is allowed on it, you will be unsatisfied with the life of the sealer. In some cases it may not last the summer versus if time is allowed for proper curing you could get 3-5 years out of the sealer.
